Online Shopping

They say that you need to save at least 20% of your salary for the future.

In order to at least get near the 20%, I try to avoid going to malls, choosing to stay home instead to avoid temptation. But the curious shopper in me, refuses to rest. I find myself going through a lot of websites and drool over the clothes and bags. If you think all I do is save pictures, think again, thanks/no thanks to paypal, my retail therapy goes to online shopping. My three weakness?

1. Ebay with its value for money purchases. Sellers, stop selling lovely things at cheaper than mall prices x_x

2. Apple. App purchases and in app purchases (Anyone agree with me for Smurf and Snoopy? I have had multiple five dollar purchases.) Itunes recently launch their music store locally. uh-oh. If I want a song badly, I may be tempted to just click the Buy for 99cents button.

3. Discount coupons. The thought of getting things at a fraction of the cost is so tempting. Take that of my article on Pisobid where I was a victim of getting things at 99% cost.

From the time couponing sites began, I have availed of the following:
AVAILED:
- 3 Red Mango yogurt
- 8 Viking Breakfast Buffet
- 6 Yoshinoya
- 2 Stronghand Shooting Range
- 6 Shilin

EXPIRED:
- 1 Fotosnaps Photobook

NEW
- 4 Sumosan

If you will notice the trend, majority are restaurants - my family loves to eat :)

Finally, my latest purchase from Metrodeal - a night lamp that shows off stars. Do I need it? No. Is it useful? Maybe. Is it cute? Yes. Press purchase.

I was a little apprehensive when I got the package. It was too light duty. Flimsy. I could have bought this for Php 100. If you know what I mean. We were asked to choose a color and yet they just delivered blue to us. The lamp looked like a knock off of an original products since there are unusable functions. The real test will happen when I get home- after I put in the batteries and if it does work, the way it will illuminate my room.

Here's a sample of the illumination. The star is kind of blurred when reflected but makes a big difference in a dark room.

Starry starry night, tonight!

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

Around Manila: Exploring the streets of J.P. Rizal in Marikina

It is funny how we know the history and culture of a land we do not live in yet know so little about where we live. Thus, began our mission to explore Manila, one city at a time. DESTINATION: Marikina Starting Time: 11am End Time: 5pm How to get to J.P. Rizal in Marikina - Waze (app) and Google Maps Marikeno (native people in Marikina) are said to be the most disciplined people in the Philippines. If the cleanliness around Marikina were a testament to that, Marikenos would pass with flying colors. The streets I could say were similar to those in Singapore - free from litter and we saw people from households cleaning their own front area even if it were facing a street. SHOE CAPITAL of the Philippines Marikina produces 70% of the shoes in the country. and holds the World's Largest Pair of Shoes, recognized by the Guinness World Records. In Marikina, you can find the Shoe Museum which houses 800 out of the 3000 shoes that were part of the famous shoe collection of the
