Royal Wedding: Prince William and Kate Middleton

It's as if time stopped, everybody in the office was watching CNN's coverage of the Royal Wedding. Everybody gasped and sighed at the appearance of David and Victoria Beckham, Prince William and Prince Harry and finally, Kate Middleton in Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. If only Alexander McQueen were alive, he would've been the designer. Posh Spice lives up to her name - very posh indeed. I'm sure in the years to come, the names Kate, Catherine, Elizabeth, William, Lois will be very popular amongst new borne babies. Just like the year when Prince Charles and Dianna were wed. I for one was named after Princess Dianna and so were three of my classmates in a class of forty students. I love Kate's gown - very flattering to her figure. I wish the veil was a bit longer though but very chic. Nostalgic moment during the ceremony: I envy Kate Middleton, at least her father was able to walk her down the aisle. If I get married, who would walk me down the aisle? :( Fantasti

Never ever

Yesterday, as I was talking to one of my officemates whose father passed away a couple of weeks after my dad did, I was reminded by the situation that I hope, wish and pray to God that nobody will ever or has ever encountered in their entire life. February 2, 2011 My father insisted, rather demanded that I go to our office and open the store. You see, our store has been closed for more than a week. Being the dutiful daughter that I was, I opened the store, I was even calling my dad to ask about prices. But at the same time, I was also in panic mode. My brother who caught dengue a couple of days after we found out about my Dad's cancer was looking for blood donors. His platelet has dropped to 8 and he was in critical mode that morning. I was frantically texting friends who can go to the hospital and donate blood. The we received a call. Someone told us that one of our customers passed away. In an instant, in that fraction of a second, it sinked inside me that my dad will too but I b

The heat is ON!

If you're interested in a free sauna, then head out to the streets! The heat will guarantee sweat in less than a couple of minutes under the sun. Day or night it actually doesn't matter. it's so humid that everyone is grabbing a cold drink left and right. The news say it's going to get hotter in May. Time to bring out shorts and skirts! Today's weather in Manila = 36 degrees perfect time for the beach and get a tan.

Look for Less: Fringed Waistcoat

I went to the newly opened Forever 21 in SM Makati and came across this cute fringed waistcoat. I was a bit hesitant to get it. It was Php 1,275 and kind of limited to summer but I was amazed by the fringe and design - I'm a sucker for design. So I bought it even if I was carrying a stack of magazines and it was hard to juggle my bag, lunch bag and magazines plus my purchase. It was also the last piece - so there's no turning back for me. The lighting sucks but you can still see the detail in the front Back view is also fantastic - worried a bit about the durability since it can easily snag something Then a week later while browsing, I happen to see a similar looking fringed waistcoat in cream- in Topshop this time and at thrice the price! Item is also out of stock online. Well, I was really quite surprised to see it in Topshop. Well at least my apprehension on the cost per wear is a bit tempered down.

Fried Day and Happy Easter!

All of my post these past couple of days are all about food. As penitence, we abstained from going out of town hence the food posts. Fried scallops Breaded shrimp Easter anticipated mass The Church was packed with people Overflowing with people Renewal of baptismal vows I get goosebumps when we sing and the Church bell rings at the same time.

Good Fooday

What's good about friday? The colorful menu. Given the observance of the Holy Week, our menu is limited to seafood. And since we were supposed to eat seafood for four days, my mom had a hard time thinking about what to serve. April 22 She bought Koka purple wheat noodles recently and we tried them out today. What do you expect from purple wheat noodles? Nothing. This tasted like ordinary cooked pasta. Bland. So I thought about adding bean paste sauce. Not bad but adding Gochujang is better. This Holy Week, almost all my meals were paired with Gochujang. I am an ADDICT. End result = an even darker dish than original. We ended up cooking the whole batch and adding Teriyaki sauce to make it better plus fish of course! Fried rice with dried fish Salted Egg, Tomatoes and Mangoes make up a colorful breakfast Extra dried fish Tilapia in Coconut sauce

Visita Iglesia 2011

Visita Iglesia, literally means "visiting churches", a tradition followed by Catholics during Holy Week. People usually visit one Church to another and contemplate on the fourteen stations of the cross. Traditionally, seven Churches are visited with two stations per visit but some go as many as fourteen to complete the stations. Visita Iglesia is usually done on Maundy Thursday so we had a full night ahead of us. Hearty Breakfast - sardines and salsa with Gochujang Lunch Shabu Shabu - love tofu Visita Iglesia begins: 1. Damar Parish 2. Lourdes Church A lot of people praying the stations of the cross. 3. Sto. Domingo Church Cool how the red carpet is rolled on a wheel 4. Holy Redeemer Church Jesus Christ is covered in cloth If you can see the pencil writing, it actually indicated the flood level during Ondoy - which was as tall as my brother - 5ft 10inches 5. Sto. Nino de Violago - beautiful I love the shell 6. Mt. Carmel - grand They had a lot of Saints 7. Christ the King - l
