Pino Sabado

One fine Saturday morning, I decided to join my officemates for a food trip. We first went to Pino, a resto that one of my officemates co-owns. Yummy food at affordable prices! Desserts c/o Noj who is currently studying in a culinary school. I love the wall decal. NEXT STOP: Burger Project - create your own burger! You first fill up the form... then bring it to the counter and watch as they "create" your burger. beefy goodness in a bite! Yummy!!!

Life is Short

I always hear older people say, "life is short, make the most out of it". Enjoy what life has to offer. But sometimes when we're young, we tend to take a backseat at life and think we have all the time in the world. I was reading a book while listening to the news and heard about the passing of 2009 Bb. Pilipinas International Melody Gersbach. She was so young, beautiful and had promise but she died young. I didn't know her or anything but something about someone dying early makes you take a step back and think about what you have accomplished so far and think about the "what's next"/moving forward? A quick wiki how got me this: HOW TO LOVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST 1. Seize each day . Live each day as if it's your last and overall just do it!. Leave the past behind and do not anticipate the future. Be present to enjoy the moment 2. Be adventurous . Explore, live on the edge a little and embrace new challenges. Visit new places with your loved ones. Take

Durham University to offer first Harry Potter class in UK

BBC News is reporting that Durham University will be offering an academic course based on the Harry Potter series next year: The Durham University module uses the works of JK Rowling to examine prejudice, citizenship and bullying in modern society. So far about 80 undergraduates have signed up for the optional module, part of a BA degree in Education Studies. Harry Potter and the Age of Illusion will be available for study next year. A university spokesman said: "This module places the Harry Potter novels in their wider social and cultural context. A few Harry Potter classes have appeared in American Universities over the past few years as well. Lucky students!

Fancy a Yellow Taxi?

Yesterday I was able to go home early because our client moved their office to Mandaluyong and it is too ridiculous to go back to the office when it is already 5:30pm. The plus side of the new office is that we can go home early but the downside is the commute. There are plenty of tricycles passing by but no cab. It's even harder when you have a pregnant officemate who you obviously can't force to ride a tricycle. It's a good thing we have the high-end airport cabs. Meter starts at Php 70 and every 300 meters is a Php 4 increase in the fare. (Normal cab of Php 30 flag down rate and Php 2.50 per additional) comparing the yellow cab to the normal cabs, yellow cabs are more spacious, looks new and the driver of the yellow cab we flagged down was kind. Never mind the +Php 60-80 on top of the normal fare. Most white cabs will ask for extra anyway. So the next time I'll ride a cab, i will definitely watch out for the yellow airport cabs.

Shoe Styles for Your Body Shape: How to Wear Ballet Flats, Boots, Platforms, Stilettos & Wedge Heels

Shoe Styles for Your Body Shape: How to Wear Ballet Flats, Boots, Platforms, Stilettos & Wedge Heels How many of us actually think about the style and shape of our shoes in relation to our body type? The main considerations when determining what shoe styles to wear are: The size and shape of your body frame The size and shape of your feet The color and heel height of your shoe The style of the outfit you want your shoes to go with. Ankle Straps Shoes with ankle straps need to be avoided if you have thick ankles and calves. According to Trinny and Susannah, authors of What Not to Wear (Weidenfeld Nicolson Illustrated 2004) “encircling the offending ankle will make it look like it's being throttled.” Ballet Flats Ballet flats or pumps are probably the most comfortable and versatile of all today’s shoe styles given that they have recently been reinvented for both day and eveningwear. The traditional ballet flat was initially a casual, no fuss shoe but today there are also embellis

Hey it's August!

Things I came across today: 1. Emma Watson posted on facebook her new pixie cut. I personally like Emma Watson and her hair fits her wonderfully. Actually with such a nice face, any hairstyle would suit her. Other stars who tried the pixie cut are Katie Holmes , Victoria Beckham, Keira Knightley, Rihanna, Agyness Deyn, Pixie Geldof, Elisha Cuthbert, Ashley Greene, and Lauren Holly among others. 2. I picked up from an article that in order to retire, I need to multiply me yearly income by 25. Um, I don't think I can ever retire if that's the case. It's a little but too much. I probably have around 8% of it covered? Read full article here: http://financiallyfit.yahoo.com/finance/article-110224-6192-1-5-expenses-that-consume-50-of-your-lifetime-earnings?ywaad=ad0035 3. I'm liking the new Stand Up to Cancer ad with some of the hottest you Hollywood celebrities. "It's up to us to change the odds for our generation, for the ones we love, for our future. If you don&#

Perfect Combination

Last Sunday we went to Ali Mall because Accessorize, one of my favorite stores, is having a 70% off sale! So I hurriedly took and bath, dressed up and we were on our way. Imagine my disappointment when we still had to pick up my brother’s girlfriend in Shaw Blvd. I can imagine the number of people already buying what I wanted! Oh no! teleport me now! Alas, when we got there, I saw old stuff on sale and the ones I wanted weren’t even there. So I couldn’t even buy those. I was really disappointed! After coming out from the store, I was stood in Ali Mall with my lower lip sticking out. I regretted going to Ali Mall ! I should’ve gone to Forever 21 instead and checked out if they had knee high boots! Bummer! My mom noticed my mood so she asked me if I wanted to go to Megamall and my quick reply was of course yes. The cab driver was a bully. He said 120 when I told him megamall. Upon which my quick reply was, “bilis, park mo diyan sa tabi”. Then he said “ay cge, metro nalang”. Ha
