Life's little pleasures

Life is made up of little moments that make us happy :) This list should never stop. 1. Getting a green light for three straight stoplights you encounter 2. The perfect mix of music on a late friday night after a great dinner with friends 3. Licking your fingers after eating KFC original chicken or a bag of Doritos 4. Lying in bed with freshly laundered sheets 5. A bowl of warm noodles on a rainy day 6. Choosing the fastest lane, the fastest line 7. Finding an empty spot in a full parking lot 8. Spontaneous moments of craziness 9. Leaving the office while it is still light outside 10. Dreaded meetings get rescheduled on a later date 11. Packing your things for a trip 12. Thinking about your vacation 13. Resigning from a job you hate 14. Conversations with friends 15. Surprise text from your old friend 16. Finding/getting a cold drink on a warm summer day 17. Satisfying your craving/finding someone to buy what you are craving for (in my case, its white cheddar pop

Bonding Day

What seems to be the start of a perfect night can go haywire. To celebrate Famealy Day, the office declared that employees can go home as early as 5:00pm. I have not been able to do so in a long time, this was my time! Despite the heavy traffic that welcomed me as I approached EDSA, I was not to be fazed, I was determined to have dinner with my family. An hour later, I was driving up to our house, an hour of traffic all behind me, excited to have dinner. I was welcomed by the sound of frying garlic inside a hot pan and the scent of Sinigang ( Sinigang  is a Filipino soup  or stew  characterized by its sour flavor  traditionally with tamarind). Things are looking better and better I must say! Menu for tonight's dinner consisted of Stuffed Ampalaya (Bitter Melon), Sinigang, Stir Fried Kang Kong (Water Spinach) and Liempo (Grilled Pork Belly) The meal ended with local fruits Rambutan and Lansones (Langsat). Blissfully full, I was not ready to let this long night go to wa

Hole in One...

... takes many many long hours of practice and precision to make it happen. I met up with my friend who plays golf to lose weight every weekend. Yes, playing golf can make you lose weight, the sheer concentration and correct position counts a lot. My friends was sweating by the bucket when I got there. Thee things I learned during my first try: 1. The proper position involves sticking your butt out and making sure your right arm is kept straight the whole time 2. You should wear comfortable light clothing as it can get quite humid 3. It takes many many many buckets of balls to perfect one shot  At the Camp Aguinaldo Driving Range preparing to hit the ball  I think in this shot the ball landed a few yards away but it still looks nice right? I'm still thinking if I should take up golf as my spot. It is an expensive sport, golf clubs aside.

Good to Rub

It was a saturday night and we were craving for fuss free good free without the frills - fast service is a must and cozy interiors. My brother suggested we try Rub, a hole in a wall place located in  64 Scout Rallos,  Tomas  Morato, Quezon City When we arrived, we actually had to wait for tables to empty. The place is pretty small.   We ordered the Family Bunch with corn and mashed potato. No frills just ribs :) Interior was filled with pop art  The ribs lived up to its expectation - smoked barbeque goodnes tender to the bite. Fast, cheap and yummy!

Tagaytay peat 2

It's been years since I went to Tagaytay and here I am, going to Tagaytay twice in just one long weekend! I woke up early after a late night at the casino with friends to a bright Monday holiday morning. I wore the wrong outfit because of the rain, Tagaytay was pretty nippy when we got there. Neverthless and not wanting to be fazed by the foggy  weather, we headed to Josephine's to have breakfast since it was full everywhere! We ordered bagoong and i forgot what it's name rice Seafood Boulbaisse  (my favorite creamy soup, perfect for the nippy weather) Sinfully good crispy pata (deep fried porkloin) And had our portraits drawn by a local artist in the resto. The day ended with some shopping at the outlet stores in Nuvali. My favorite among the lot was Debenhams and Bench

Here's to the long weekend!

To celebrate our friend's big 3-0, we decided to do it with a bang and plan a whole weekend of fun. But first, the surprise! We asked our friend to go to the mall while we checked in at the Remington hotel to prepare the flowers and messages on the bed. Donna was pleasantly surprised and amused. It took us a month after to surprise her :( Better late than never right? Imagine hger  A round of photo op for the wacky balloons stolen from a children's birthday party. \ We capped the night playing at the casino, laughing at our own stupidity and dumb luck at the slot machine :)

Marcia Adams' Tuscany, Tagaytay

Work has been so busy these past few months/year that life outside of work has taken a backseat. But I vowed to change all that starting now. I promise (friends, feel free to quote me on this) that I will say yes to all the lunches and dinners planned :) The plan was to go to Tagaytay. The meeting time? when everyone is awake, the meet up place, a common area to be decided tomorrow. Fun is about to begin! Getting to Tagaytay was easy enough with a driver in tow. Finding Marcia Adams proved to be tougher. We were hours late for our reservation (You need to reserve in advance, they don't encourage walk-ins) - it's hard to haul ourselves off the bed when the crumpled sheets look so tempting :) But finally after passing the big arc with fruits and turing right in an unmarked road, we finally saw the adobe walls and the wooden unmarked door, hiding Marcia Adams Tuscany.  Our car had to be left on top while we walked along the cobbled garden steps leading to the dini

Stuck in Makati

Habagat + Rain As I was busily working on a presentation, I somehow overheard the news anchor broadcasting that it was heavily flooded in Quezon City and that people have to take more caution in going home to avoid flooded areas. I looked out my window and saw the rain pouring down on our window as if it were the end of the world. My mom called me up and told me that it was also pointless to go home since it was flooded in our area so either I wait it out or spend the night elsewhere. It was a good thing that I had a friend/officemate living in the same as I did - we were both stuck in Makati. You do feel a little better knowing that you have someone with you going through the same thing you're going through. While we were half afraid for our families, we were also half excited for the impromptu sleepover. We began scouting for available hotels in Makati. It was raining heavily at that time and I didn't want to venture anywhere farther than De La Rosa which did limit

Creating Talkability

Creating Talkability This one I really like - going to the extreme

Videos worth sharing

It's been a long time since I last liked and shared a video. > Breathtaking video around Paris This video lets you travel-visually - while you're stuck doing a report for clients. If I had an overhead projector, this will be THE moving vision board.   Paris In Motion (Part I) from Mayeul Akpovi on Vimeo . > Adorable proposal using Internet meme plus the wedding vows  Every girl wants to be swept off their feet. :) Tim's proposal reminds me of the very romantic scene in the movie Love Actually when Mark (Andrew Lincoln) stood at the doorstep of Juliet's (Keira Knightley) house, showing her messages written in whiteboards. Sigh. Meme Proposal | Tim * Audrey from Crazy Monkey Studio on Vimeo .   Meme Proposal Sequel | Tim * Audrey from Crazy Monkey Studio on Vimeo .

Jitters and stuff

I am going to my first blind date this Saturday. I'm a bundle of nerves. I don't really know how to act or what to wear but hopefully this works out really well. This morning, I also received an email asking me if I wanted to explore a job opportunity in another company with a higher position. I don't know if I'm 1. Ready 2. capable Talk about a life changing week.

****ty week

Of what seems like the worst work week. Rushed requirements, wrong data, irresponsible planners, missed spots and going away. It seems a lot for just one week. One week deadlines crunched into two days Planners who take their sweet time even if they know the deadliest deadline for presentation to client Forgetful planners who forget to transfer things that should be transferred New people to train Irresponsible AE's who report things weeks after the fact TOO MANY THINGS TO FOCUS ON, TOO LITTLE TIME NEEDING A DOUBLE Clients pushing, suppliers pulling. All in a week's work but... everything will end after "work" hours. :) I'm excited to watch a movie tonight, Channing, wait for me :)

$40 software and pictures

My brother borrowed my new camera  to bring with him when he watches Nicki Minaj. He was so excited listening to the concert while I had my shock of a lifetime meet my client at my worst OT moment and had him fetch me instead because I was too sleepy to drive. Needless to say he lost his way going to my office. As soon as we arrived home, my brother was still pumped up with energy so he replayed all the videos he took earlier that evening - secretly, I think he was showing off. hehehe Anyway, the FOLLOWING morning, the SD card wouldn't play. It prompted error reading file and it needs to be reformatted. I was seething with anger. First because I should've copied all my pictures first before lending it to him. Now all my memories of my first trip to Boracay is history. I suddenly remembered that I was able to post some photos on Facebook but it was only 10 pictures when I clearly remember that I took hundreds of pictures. I was so bothered, I couldn't work. Finally

Why do people read novels?

It's been a long time since I last picked up a book. The last book I read was a couple of months ago. The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Truth be told, I have forgotten what it's like to read a book, to get that exciting rush of emotions intertwined with my everyday routine. I am quite emotional, I cry at moving commercials and touching scenes- and no matter how many times I've seen it, it always makes me cry. I like books that excite me whether its an action packed, suspense or romance novel. I'm all for it. I normally judge a book from the short plot in the back. If I like it, I buy it. Reading gives me a quick escape - a fantasy propelled by imagination of how an exciting life can be. I secretly want to be the protagonist, leading the life of adventure/action/romance seeing the world in a different lens, jumping from one to the next.  Reading can take me to different places I've only dreamed about. Reading brings to life imagination. I am happy that I&#

Stress Buster? Maybe.

I had one helluva week and one helluva morning. I had cried, laugh, laugh while I cried and simply put. I was at the point of breaking down. So I had to taker a leave. After a presentation in which client basically ruined my day, I decided to have some me time. My back has been bothering me for a couple of days and I needed some rest. Waking up at 5am didn't particularly help. My brother and I had a scheduled appointment for target shooting at Stronghand Shooting Range in E. Rodriguez (nearing Cubao). I forgot to search for directions so halfway down E. Rodriguez, I had to call up the range and ask for directions. We arrived just in time for the session. Stronghand Shooting Range I was giddy with excitement - after all, this is one for the books, my first time to hold a gun, let alone my first time to attend a learning session with my brother. Shooting Range When we arrived, we had to leave our ID with the guard and register at the front desk (filling up an info shee
