Define HECTIC

Today was one of the worst day to cap of my short work week.

I had a 9AM meeting at work so in order to be there super early, I left my house at 7AM, normally drive time will take an hour to a maximum of an hour 20 minutes. Needless to say, after getting stuck in Aurora Boulevard for 30 minutes and believing a police officer's word that there was a stalled 10 wheeler truck, I was on my way to Makati via Shaw Boulevard/Accacia Road when my friend sent an SMS that there was no stalled truck to begin with. What irritated me further was that it took me two and a half hours to get to work because of this. I was later on a really bad bad day to be late and I couldn't find anyone to blame except for foolishly believing a person of authority. :(

I arrived at our office and the meeting had already started. The big boss was looking at me as to communicate who is this and why is she late? May the floor open up to swallow me please.

When it was my time to present, the client asked a LOT of questions - questions which were important but something we couldn't cover since it was more client's process than our process. BUMMER. The client asking all the question even said "Poor Chris, we're asking her everything"

Needless to say. No matter how good or bad situation you are in, it will not last forever. Just go with the flow and bear/enjoy the ride.

The day finished at half past four in the afternoon. And after answering all the questions from my team, the next thing I know, it was already seven in the evening and we had to leave for client's going away party.

HECTIC, I know!

When we arrived at the 11th floor, the whole socials hall was converted into a restaurant ambiance. The food was Indian with roasted lamb, beef wrap and steamed fish among a lot of things. Since this was a going away party, it started with games.

The first game was Pera O Bayong (Native woven bag), a popular Filipino game to herd people around the venue. It was a simple multiple choice game and people had to choose a letter/bayong and fall in line behind the letter. The objective of the game is to give tougher questions as the game progresses to lead to one winner. The winner will then have to choose between the prize being offered to him instead of the bayong or the prize inside the bayong.

I really didn't want to compete since I had a lot of things on my mind, so I deliberately chose a wrong answer to get myself out of the game which is my luck because my period chose a most convenient time to arrive and not to mention, the indian food and  my tummy did not go well together.

After dinner, our team did a quick dance number to the song of "Call Me Maybe" and then the presentation of gifts and messages began.

We left the place at half past nine in the evening and I still had to turn over with my team on deliverable within the week. I will be out of the office starting tomorrow until Friday because I will be in Boracay for work. I know, being in one of the top beach destainations in the world should sound like a dream, right? But I was really dreading to leave the ton of work I still had to do and the pressure I will be in when we go to Boracay because I will represent, client and creative agency. Not an easy place to be in.

Finally I was done by 11PM. Praise the Lord I was able t drive back home in one piece. I went up to my room and started throwing things inside my luggage. I highly doubt if things would match but hopefully it will all make sense. I think I underpacked. I still had a lot toc over but decided to sleep at 1AM. And up bright and early at 4:15AM, Oh my, so early.

so that was how my hectic things can be in the crazy world I live in.

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

Around Manila: Exploring the streets of J.P. Rizal in Marikina

It is funny how we know the history and culture of a land we do not live in yet know so little about where we live. Thus, began our mission to explore Manila, one city at a time. DESTINATION: Marikina Starting Time: 11am End Time: 5pm How to get to J.P. Rizal in Marikina - Waze (app) and Google Maps Marikeno (native people in Marikina) are said to be the most disciplined people in the Philippines. If the cleanliness around Marikina were a testament to that, Marikenos would pass with flying colors. The streets I could say were similar to those in Singapore - free from litter and we saw people from households cleaning their own front area even if it were facing a street. SHOE CAPITAL of the Philippines Marikina produces 70% of the shoes in the country. and holds the World's Largest Pair of Shoes, recognized by the Guinness World Records. In Marikina, you can find the Shoe Museum which houses 800 out of the 3000 shoes that were part of the famous shoe collection of the
