REALITY reality!

Sunday is normally the R&R day but I committed to go to a children's brithday party so I had to go. Initial plan was to drive all the way to Wack Wack Golf and Country Club but I actually didn't know how to go home from there. So my brother dropped me off instead.

When I arrived, they were saying grace, the party just started! The place was packed. It had around 14 tables and filled with people, and kids running around. I dropped off my gift at the entrance and was lost in a sea of unfamiliar faces and pink-ness!

Finally, I was able to get a seat. I was in the same table with three kids and they all were playing with an ipad each and since the parents were all busy attending to their kids, I just ate - a small cup of congee, a piece of pandesal, a slice of ham, and some dessert - Halo-Halo

With no one to talk too I was bored and way out of my comfort zone. If only I had a kid to babysit. So I asked the country club receptionist to get me a cab. It was raining and the place was quite far from the main road that it would take time before a cab passes by. After an hour and Ava, lending me her umbrella, I decided to leave, rain and all because I was suffocating under all the parent talk - totally not my scene.

I walked down the circular path from the country club, snapping pictures and lo and behold the guards below were able to get a cab! Yehey!

I then asked the cab driver to take me to Shangri-La mall and window shopped at Debenhams instead. Party, not really my scene, children's party, someone help me!

My mom and I were both looking for party dresses for the weddings that we have to attend. Last count for me was four wedding while my mom had to attend three weddings. My other cousin will be getting married in the US so that is one less, unfortunately.

After trying on several dresses, we were quite disappointed because we still had a lot to go but none that suited us. We just had do's and don'ts in buying dresses.

Sunday ended with dinner at Kimono Ken, I was really craving for Omakase but this will do. Futomaki is the best :)

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

Around Manila: Exploring the streets of J.P. Rizal in Marikina

It is funny how we know the history and culture of a land we do not live in yet know so little about where we live. Thus, began our mission to explore Manila, one city at a time. DESTINATION: Marikina Starting Time: 11am End Time: 5pm How to get to J.P. Rizal in Marikina - Waze (app) and Google Maps Marikeno (native people in Marikina) are said to be the most disciplined people in the Philippines. If the cleanliness around Marikina were a testament to that, Marikenos would pass with flying colors. The streets I could say were similar to those in Singapore - free from litter and we saw people from households cleaning their own front area even if it were facing a street. SHOE CAPITAL of the Philippines Marikina produces 70% of the shoes in the country. and holds the World's Largest Pair of Shoes, recognized by the Guinness World Records. In Marikina, you can find the Shoe Museum which houses 800 out of the 3000 shoes that were part of the famous shoe collection of the
