I have never had a CT scan nor would I really want to but today is the today to overcome that hurdle.
I woke up early this morning to drink the contrast given by st. Lukes. The first gulp I had to drink at 6AM and the second one at 7PM.
By 2PM, I was at St. Lukes processing my papers, at 6PM I was inside the CT scan room. I was asked to changed into the hospital gown with only my underwear underneath. The room was super cold it gave me goosebumps as soon as I left the room. I was asked to lie still in the metal bed and was given a blanket to cover my body. They asked me to raise my arms over my head and lie still once again.
I thought during the whole time that I was being scanned but one of the nurses told me that I was being scanned as the bed is going out. The rest of the time they were adjusting the bed. HAHAHA so much for the cramps I felt trying to not move.
When they scanned the whole abdomen, they proceeded to give me the final contrast via injection. The pain I felt as they injected the needle was like the normal injection. Hurts a bit, but not for long. Then I was told not to swallow so that I will not taste the contrast. How come it is so hard to not do something you're not allowed to do? The initial wave of the contrast felt like cold rush of ice water down my veins but after, it spread warmth at an intense speed.
Finally, it was all over.
So the results will be released tomorrow so we'll see what happens next
