Halloween Decor Competition: Peter Pan

A throng of AE's rush by as we near the long weekend, I can only see them move but not hear what they said. I was in a place where I was envisioning what and how we can decorate our big room to recreate Peter Pan for our annual Halloween decor competition - then everything fell into place. If I can picture it in my mind, then I can re-create it :)

I have always enjoyed decorating rooms, I think my mom's passion for decorating has rubbed off on me. Creating, decorating styling has always been my main passion, this year will not be any different.

Since we had a big U-shaped room full of office desks (DUH! offices should have that) it was kind of difficult to manage along with people's workload on top of decorating. After brainstorming with the team and filtering some basic ideas, we finally have the final concept: IMAGINE

Along with Wendy, John and Michael, get to travel with them as they go to Neverland!

When you enter through the door, you are invited to the room of the Darling's with quilted duvet covers, teddy bears and curtains overlooking a cityscape.

As you exit through the window, you are transported to the world of the unknown - black curtains with big stars it seems as if you are floating in the air surrounded by a gazillion stars and upon reaching the end, you arrive at Neverland. The first thing you see is Captain Hook in his big pirate ship floating in the water, to your right is Tiger Lily's camp and she invites you to sit and chat with her as Peter Pan duels with Captain Hook protecting the Darlings and the kids from Captain Hook who wants their candies! Peter Pan wins! The visit ends with a visit to Tinkerbell's place while she hangs out in the waterfall, sprinkling pixie dust to kids to transport them back to the real world.

Sounds amazing right? The work involved in recreating the space was also tremendous but I had so much fun decorating, work became second.

One of the first things we did was to put up a tree and change the red background to landscape to transform the whole place into a surreal world of fantasy and adventure.

Then everyone was assigned a task for the room, there were people assigned for costumes and decor. Everyone worked hard and it paid off. We won the second place :) Well worth the effort. Kudos to the other team that won - Alice in Wonderland (1st place) and Tangled (3rd place) and the remaining four teams who put in much effort into their decors as well.

On a side note, Captain Hook bagged third place as best villain! Yehey!

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

December 3, 2010 Today we got a surprise visit from Mo Twister and Rhian Ramos. Noj had business meeting with him and he toured them around the office. We managed to get a quick picture with him before they left. Kevin with Rhian Ramos. He's quite red from all the attention he's getting. Group picture with Mo. My height: 5' 3 1/2". Outfit post: black cardigan from f21 rompers from landmark chain belt from Mango tights from Samsung Fashion shoes from Rubi We also got free tickets for Narnia tonight. It was okay. The best part about the movie is that I got to see snow again(The movie was in 3D). We arrived quite late and I missed the first 10 minutes but my brother told me nothing much happened. I did miss a few great 3D effects. Ended the night with dinner at Recipes with Noj, April, Finj, Em, Rommel and Donna. Where Donna once again practiced her "bitch smile" aka Heart Evangelista smile.
