Wishful Online Shopping

I have a thing for Eiffel Towers and I try to resist impulse purchase on Eiffel Towers but shopping at Urban Outfitters (among others) is one of the many reasons why I want to go to the US. How cute is this Eiffel Tower door stop ? Not to mention the NYC Skyline pillowcases or Paris Panorama The accessory rack is also not bad! On a side note, I would love the Owl USB or this sunny yellow Owl Catch All Dish

First drive in EDSA

I have been longing to drive to work. The daily commute is dragging me down and thinking about the comfort of having my personal space, sans the crowd, paints a nice picture in my head. Never mind the gas and traffic - this beats having someone's armpit near your face or standing face to face, side to side, back to back with a stranger. So after driving twice to Trinoma, on my own, this was THE SUNDAY to venture out and try EDSA. From Kamuning, I had to do an errand first, I took on EDSA. I had to drive fast (in my book, 70 is fast) because there were quite a few cars, sans traffic jam and everyone was going at my speed or faster. I was quite tense during the duration of the drive, but I convinced myself that if I think I couldn't handle it anymore, my brother will willingly take over the task. BUT, I managed to drive until Greenbelt 5, parking included, and headed to the mall with a smile on my face. What I learned: 1. If you are driving from North to South via EDSA, keep left...

Weekend Edition: Eye-opening Independence Weekend

I realized a lot of things over the weekend. First, amongst us three, my brother has been hit the hardest or is more emotionally wrecked than my mom or me. Our doctor shared that guys, unlike girls, are compartmentalized when they think. They compartmentalized their work, family, fun, health and wellness and romance separately and for my brother, all these have been damaged in a span of a couple of months. Our doctor was in the same position as my brother when his Dad passed away when he was just 27. a. Work - from the happy go lucky, easy going boy he used to be, playing playstation in our office. He now has to manage our business and the employees and he has the responsibility of the household expenditures. Yes, my mom is there, but suddenly, the weight is upon his shoulders. b. Family - he just lost his dad and he found out a couple of days after. He now stands as the only male in the family and his free time is limited. c. Fun, Health and Wellness - He had dengue while my dad was si...

Photoshoot and Expensive cab rides

Behind the scene photoshoot for our team with the trophy. Some of us goofed around while the others took pictures by sub-group. We did a lot of poses some serious, some wacky. The only set-back is that the prints are expensive! Php 890 for a print with 4 digital files. That is super duper overpriced! ** On the side, tonight was perhaps the most expensive cab drive ever. At Php 310 from Fort to my house. Lesson learned 1. Never take C5 to go home 2. The price increase on cabs is crazy - I should drive a car instead. Php 310 is gas money to and from Makati for a couple of days.

Reading Marathon: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay

It's been a while since I last read a book. I know, I know, I'm behind in my monthly goal but I managed to read 3 books in one week - that is how addicted I can get when I'm hooked to something. I will not dwell on the summary except that it's set in a post apocalyptic time and in order to remind people that the Capitol is in power, they hold Hunger Games yearly. Hunger games is a game wherein children ages twelve to eighteen fight it off in a different environment. The remaining survivor will be rewarded with food and supply for the rest of their lives. The whole series revolves around Katniss Everdeen and her life in Panem. I love the series. It was so well articulated that I could picture it in my mind, from the gold tattoos to the silver parachutes which makes me even more excited because the book will be made into a movie next year. The last book, Mockingjay, was published last year hence the late post since I hate cliffhangers. Katniss will be played by Jennifer...

Secret Hideout...

...of some artistas. My mom and brother invited me to an impromptu movie in SM North Edsa The Block to watch X-Men. Nevermind that I wore a thin shirt. It's been a long time since we watched a movie together. We decided to eat at Pho Viet Express so that we can sit near the cinemas, we only had 10 minutes left to eat. Lo and behold, in a span of 10 minutes we saw an actress and 2 actors. I couldn't remember their names because I'm not familiar with the local showbiz actors and actresses. So if you want to spot local actors and actresses, watch a movie in SM North the Block.
