Perfect Combination

Last Sunday we went to Ali Mall because Accessorize, one of my favorite stores, is having a 70% off sale! So I hurriedly took and bath, dressed up and we were on our way. Imagine my disappointment when we still had to pick up my brother’s girlfriend in Shaw Blvd. I can imagine the number of people already buying what I wanted! Oh no! teleport me now!

Alas, when we got there, I saw old stuff on sale and the ones I wanted weren’t even there. So I couldn’t even buy those. I was really disappointed! After coming out from the store, I was stood in Ali Mall with my lower lip sticking out. I regretted going to Ali Mall! I should’ve gone to Forever 21 instead and checked out if they had knee high boots! Bummer!

My mom noticed my mood so she asked me if I wanted to go to Megamall and my quick reply was of course yes.

The cab driver was a bully. He said 120 when I told him megamall. Upon which my quick reply was, “bilis, park mo diyan sa tabi”. Then he said “ay cge, metro nalang”. Haller. 120? Such a rip-off. I digress once again but I was so happy when I got to Megamall. There is only one store I had in mind. FOREVER 21. How I wish I could really be forever 21 but then again, that's another story. Inside, I felt like a kid inside a candy store with all these colorful stuff beaming back at me. I quickly headed to the middle section where the bags and shoes are displayed. Lo and behold, I saw a great blue school boy bag that looked like a cross over between a mulberry alexa and proenza schouler

Proenza Schouler (3 colors)

I hoarded 3 bags at once. The first was the blue mulberry proenza spin-off, the second a quilted black bag and finally a DKNY spin-off bag.

But I let go of all of them. Well, my mom said they weren’t nice, I think it’s more of I already bought 2 bags just last week and another would be a throwing away my savings. Instead I bought a SKIRT which was super cute. This is my second skirt purchase EVER. I don’t ever wear skirts. But now I do. Haha I also bought a cute pinstripe tube dress. Because I wear dresses every weekend.

Anyway, that was Sunday. Today, I came across a blog and I saw the exact same bag on another blogger and I was green with envy! It’s a good thing one of my officemate had a dentist appointment in that area so I asked her to buy it for me today.

Yipee!

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

Around Manila: Exploring the streets of J.P. Rizal in Marikina

It is funny how we know the history and culture of a land we do not live in yet know so little about where we live. Thus, began our mission to explore Manila, one city at a time. DESTINATION: Marikina Starting Time: 11am End Time: 5pm How to get to J.P. Rizal in Marikina - Waze (app) and Google Maps Marikeno (native people in Marikina) are said to be the most disciplined people in the Philippines. If the cleanliness around Marikina were a testament to that, Marikenos would pass with flying colors. The streets I could say were similar to those in Singapore - free from litter and we saw people from households cleaning their own front area even if it were facing a street. SHOE CAPITAL of the Philippines Marikina produces 70% of the shoes in the country. and holds the World's Largest Pair of Shoes, recognized by the Guinness World Records. In Marikina, you can find the Shoe Museum which houses 800 out of the 3000 shoes that were part of the famous shoe collection of the
