Wee Nam Kee Philipines

Way back 2009, when I was planning my December trip to Singapore, a friend recommend Wee Nam Kee in Novena for their famous Haianese Chicken and Cereal Prawns. But when we were in Singapore, we didn't have time to go to Novena because we were too busy shopping. It was the Christmas season after all. So imagine our excitement when Wee Nam Kee came to the Philippines and in Ayala Triangle at that, which is 5 minutes away from the office. A month before the launch, we were already anticipating to have lunch there. But due to the season, we had a lot of deadlines and presentation to do before we start 2011. We only had a chance to eat there this afternoon. Imagine, lunch at 430PM!

I was really quite excited to order Haianese Chicken and to basically eat. I was really hungry by 430PM, not having a proper lunch and all.

Chicken rice at Php 40

Haianese Chicken at Php 275

Salted Squid at Php 220

Barley Drink at Php 40 or 50?

Overall, there was nothing really special about the food I was able to try.

We also noticed that there were too many staff. I think I counted around 11-13 people.

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

Of Kris Kringle and Mickey

This year, we decided to have a Kris Kringle amongst the two teams. Mechanics: First KK : Buy something BIG for your teammate worth Php 100 ($2.50). Then wear an ugly sweater on Friday and have your picture taken beside the Christmas tree in the lobby. Second KK: Each person should think of a showbiz personality starting with the letter C and that will be his/her codename, then write at least 3 wishlist within the range of Php 350 ($8). Since we were all curious as to who wrote what, we decided to have another game. Guess the person behind the codename. The clues? The wishlist provided. It took me a while to guess because I kept on getting 3 names jumbled up. Finally, I guessed them all. It was fun to get a short break from work. Speaking of breaks, this is my dog, Mickey who is about 9 years old and absolutely hates getting cold baths. One time when the maids were washing the garage, he actually jumped up to a white wicker chair to avoid getting wet and having soap suds. Looks like h...
