Before 2010 comes to a close...

we must also celebrate my birthday party with a BANG!

In 2009, I said that 2010 is the year. And I saw that happen. But 2011 will be more fantastic than 2010. So here's to a birthday celebration/pre-New year party!

Cheers to a wonderful New year!

A couple of days before my birthday, I emailed everyone an OC version of the map to my house and confirmation of all the attendees. By Dec 29, I had 14 confirmed attendees! Whopee! 85% confirmation!

By 4PM the house was like a well oiled machine, everyone had their own task in making sure that everything is perfect that night. My dad is in charge of making sure all the lights work from the restroom to the parking area, my brother was in charge of the party playlist and the alcoholic bev, my mom and the maids were in charge of cooking while I was the all around - taste testing, buying, errand girl and general sorting.

By 6PM all the food was done but Filipino time dictated them all and everyone started to arrive after 8pm. By then the food was already cold but nonetheless yummy. Ara and Noj were the earlybirds.

The party ended at around 4:30AM.

Ping pong point and lowest card, Charades and Pinoy Henyo, I have NEVER, 9 litters of empty softdrink bottles, 24 bottles of beer, 1 empty Jack Daniels and less than 1/4 of a liter of absolut kurant = ONE HELLUVA PARTY!!!

Minus the stupid neighbors. It was one perfect night. :D

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

Ironic Cafe Monaco

Tucked in one of the building along Banawe is a quaint restaurant called Cafe Monaco. From the outside, the interiors looked cozy and perfect for hanging out with friends but I was quite surprised when I stepped inside to find out that most tables were occupied by families. And people actually are willing to wait for their turn to be seated! Kudos for that. My basis for choosing a restaurant is based on the line/wait. If the line is long or the waiting list is long, then it must be worth trying. We ate dinner at this restaurant yesterday evening and I actually loved it! It's a bit weird though that the name of the restaurant is Cafe Monaco but they serve a lot of Korean dishes. My aunt said that the owner of the place married a Korean hence the menu with Korean dishes. We tried bibimbap and at first bite, it was okay but the more you chew the better it gets. Healthy too, with little meat in the dish. Prices are friendly on the pocket too so I will definitely go back to try out thei...
