Good Fooday

What's good about friday? The colorful menu.

Given the observance of the Holy Week, our menu is limited to seafood. And since we were supposed to eat seafood for four days, my mom had a hard time thinking about what to serve.

April 22

She bought Koka purple wheat noodles recently and we tried them out today.

What do you expect from purple wheat noodles? Nothing. This tasted like ordinary cooked pasta. Bland.

So I thought about adding bean paste sauce. Not bad but adding Gochujang is better. This Holy Week, almost all my meals were paired with Gochujang. I am an ADDICT.

End result = an even darker dish than original. We ended up cooking the whole batch and adding Teriyaki sauce to make it better plus fish of course!

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

Of Kris Kringle and Mickey

This year, we decided to have a Kris Kringle amongst the two teams. Mechanics: First KK : Buy something BIG for your teammate worth Php 100 ($2.50). Then wear an ugly sweater on Friday and have your picture taken beside the Christmas tree in the lobby. Second KK: Each person should think of a showbiz personality starting with the letter C and that will be his/her codename, then write at least 3 wishlist within the range of Php 350 ($8). Since we were all curious as to who wrote what, we decided to have another game. Guess the person behind the codename. The clues? The wishlist provided. It took me a while to guess because I kept on getting 3 names jumbled up. Finally, I guessed them all. It was fun to get a short break from work. Speaking of breaks, this is my dog, Mickey who is about 9 years old and absolutely hates getting cold baths. One time when the maids were washing the garage, he actually jumped up to a white wicker chair to avoid getting wet and having soap suds. Looks like h...
