LOCATION: Eastwood Mall, Libis Time: 9:30PM What attracted me first to Mr.Kurosawa were these huge zebra stripped menus that seemed to call out my name (I have a thing for zebra stripes). I was also craving for Japanese/Korean food again. Since we were in a celebratory mood for my mom's upcoming birthday plus the fact that they suffered two hours in traffic - take note of Switchfoot concert and Megamall Labor Day sale = heavy traffic along EDSA-they were quite famished by the time we stepped inside Mr.Kurosawa. We wanted to order a lot (takaw tingin) so we finally settled with their big orders good for 4. A sampler platter really but I couldn't recall the name since it was my brother who ordered for us. The platter had a huge bowl of greens, fried rice, shrimp, california maki, tuna sashimi, tempura squid, chicken yakitori and fried oysters. We had to wait for 30 minutes before the food was served. Ohayo! I've been missing Japan for quite some time now. Something about the culture and the people living there have impacted me in a great way that I can never seem to forget about the country. That is why when I spotted Atsu Atsu Ramen in Araneta Avenue, I knew I had to try it. Restaurant exterior After mass, we decided to have dinner in Atsu Atsu. My brother accompanied us, but since he had a dinner to go to, he was not going to eat a full meal. Upon entering, the Japanese curtains were opened. No greeting no frills, no nothing but the interiors were very reminiscent Japan. We were quite surprised when they asked us if we reserved a table. At the back of my mind, I was thinking "Um, no. I didn't think we had to right?" So we were showed to the odd single chairs. Another ummmm moment and I wanted to step out at that point. After lunch, some of the cousins and I headed to Trinoma to unwind. We wanted to watch either Tanging Ina, Rosario or some other MMFF film but the line was so long that we decided to look around instead. We'd be crazy if we decided to line up.
