The SM Army and late doctors

Despite working the weekend until the jittery bug presentation yesterday, I woke up early to renew my expired license - I have been driving my car for 2 days with an expired license since I really really had no choice. My aunt told us that if we want to renew our license, we had to line up as early as 7:30.

I woke up at 7:30. hahaha... Finally, I decided to leave the house at 8:15 and slowly but surely drove to SM North EDSA. After encountering slight hicks in my trip - Baler was closed so I had to experiment taking another route by following random cars - literally until I found the street I was looking for - I finally made it there at 8:35AM. I also saw that there were NO LINES! and the place wasn't even open. After taking my time inside the car, I went down to the officeand passed by the Drug Exam place beside it - there were people there already so I hurriedly picked up a form and started filling it out. I was done so I just left it at the counter.

The staff finally came out at 9:05AM, since I was able to fill up my form quickly, I was the fourth to be called. Imagine my surprise when an hour later, I was not yet called despite having given my urine sample. It turns out that the very unprofessional doctor was late!!!! Oh Lord! By the time it was 10:20AM< the place was filled to the brim! and still the examiner was not yet in.

That's not the worst part, the worst part was when the doctor asked for my BP (blood pressure). I said its around 110/70 - AND SHE JUST WROTE IT DOWN WITHOUT CHECKING FOR MY BP!!!!

I know I paid only Php100 for it and I shouldn't expect much but really? that is what we all get? asked to read line 12 and 13 to check our eyes then ASKED for the BP? Goodness gracious!

Anyway, I was so glad to get out of the room, it was getting to suffocating with a lot of people inside.

Lo and behold, when I went inside LTO, there were only four other people inside, the three who went before me were there as well! Grabe, the unprofessional doctor caused a snowball effect on all the applicants!

Within ten minutes I was finished in LTO, holding and checking my new driver's license.

Had the doctor been early, I think I would have been done in less than an hour but because she was late, I finished in1hr and a half, my colleague who came in at 9:45AM finished shortly before 12noon!

I was planning to go to SM to walk around but I found out that the mall was closed because there was no electricity! And the SM employees hanging outside the mall seemed like they had a rally going on. Rows upon rows of employees!

I had no choice but to make use of my remaining morning so I went to have my tires fixed then went back home.

Honestly, I really didn't want to go to work anymore but I still had the 3pm meeting.

Despite the traffic, I did get to Makati by 3PM. Whew!

KRIS KRINGLE: Something Big

I never thought it would be hard to find something BIG for Php 100 pesos ($2) I short listed the following for my fashionable friend: ...a big box of tissue (useful) ...a big toblerone (but this is WAY over budget) ...a big trash bin ...a case of big oatmeal cookies (last resort) ...a big mirror ...a big bookmark (which i couldn't find anywhere) ...a BIG beer (unrelated) ...a big organizer it's quite difficult really. But I must search for something else. PRESSURE! On a side note, Jamie treated us to Pizza Hut's Lechon pizza. After eating, I felt like I would pass out at any moment due to high cholesterol but it was quite tasty if you're a fan of Lechon (roasted pig). The pizza did taste a bit like Mang Tomas' lechon sauce. A big slice of Pizza hut's lechon pizza

Ironic Cafe Monaco

Tucked in one of the building along Banawe is a quaint restaurant called Cafe Monaco. From the outside, the interiors looked cozy and perfect for hanging out with friends but I was quite surprised when I stepped inside to find out that most tables were occupied by families. And people actually are willing to wait for their turn to be seated! Kudos for that. My basis for choosing a restaurant is based on the line/wait. If the line is long or the waiting list is long, then it must be worth trying. We ate dinner at this restaurant yesterday evening and I actually loved it! It's a bit weird though that the name of the restaurant is Cafe Monaco but they serve a lot of Korean dishes. My aunt said that the owner of the place married a Korean hence the menu with Korean dishes. We tried bibimbap and at first bite, it was okay but the more you chew the better it gets. Healthy too, with little meat in the dish. Prices are friendly on the pocket too so I will definitely go back to try out thei...
